HARARE EAST 2018 MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE TAKES SOLUTION TO SERVICE DELIVERY WOES BACK TO THE CONSTITUENCY.
Garikai Mlambo is Harare East 2018 Member of Parliament Independent Candidate and is doing politics differently, something that has brought a breath of fresh air to residents of Harare East especially those who are yearning for real change and believe in the power of engagement to overcome challenges political, social and economic at all levels.
Mlambo is a 35 year old young man and says he is the ‘new servant who has come.” The young and energetic politician likes to quote Frantz Fannon where he writes “each generation must discover its mission, fulfill it or betray it.” Mlambo believes that the older generation of politicians and nationalists has played its role and that it is time for the younger generation to take over and take charge engagement is the way to go. Constituency members and responsible authorities should develop a culture of dialogue where issues are presented and possible solutions discussed until the best solution is agreed upon.
Mlambo who is an entrepreneur in his own right says the politics of promising to do things for the electorate is a yesteryear way of doing politics and half the time is fraught with unfulfilled promises and lies. While development is something he holds dear, he says he is not going to fund development activities from his pocket because that is what Tax Payer’s money should be used for.
The soft but tough talking young politician says now is the time to “correct past mistakes” and “be the agent of change,” for Harare East in particular and Zimbabwe in general.
